Because it's Mother's Day - something from the past

LITTLE GUILTS IN MOTHER’S KAMP Mother stands arms crossed against her chest feet spread, solid in black boots. The dark tower of her fills the doorway. The iron-tipped whip in her right hand taps the swastika on her left shoulder. She knows, in her SS way, about the cracks I stepped on the flirty... Sign in to see full entry.

Tiger Heart

Tiger, tiger, burning bright / in the forests of the night O what fearful hand or eye / formed thy fearful symmetry? William Blake All her life she’d been burning bright in secret, her tiger heart caged by convention, expectation and of course by the law of the land. Nan was brought up knowing a... Well, well, well.

Gloria has been a character of interest through this past year and a half, one of the story- tellers at The Center. She's the emotional one, who sometimes comes to tears as she recounts stories from her childhood - talks about how dear her father and grandmother were to her and how their loss... I Quit.

Sometimes it's hard to say those words. Sometimes it's almost impossible. But when it is necessary, ya gotta do it. Married to the wrong person? Keeping it together for the sake of kids, or to avoid making such a drastic change? Got a job that's crazy-making and just doesn't offer any satisfaction... Sign in to see full entry.

That first night it stays so warm the wool blanket comes off the bed and the down coverlet is almost too warm. Not warm enough to turn on the ceiling... Sign in to see full entry.

It's not me, it's YOU!

Turns out I didn't do something to the remote. Charter cable went out. Apparently it was just at the time the fight of the century was about to start - I understand it cost an arm and a leg to watch it on cable, but I wouldn't give a nickel to see a couple guys whale away at one another. Lots of... Sign in to see full entry.

Editing...

Got to talking to a neighbor a couple days ago, he asked to read my old novel "Waltzing With Zombies," which I haven't looked at for nearly two years. I got started reading it and got quite a ways in before I started correcting little grammar glitches. I was still in my jammies, didn't stop to fix a... Sign in to see full entry.

About the planter box...

My brother John’s a kind of mechanical / carpentry savant. He’s been taking things apart and putting them back together since before he ever went to school, and has the ability to draw a perfectly straight line exactly the length he wants it without using a ruler or other measuring stick. He once... Sign in to see full entry.
