Bring me a cup of sugar, white and sweet made from canes or sugar beets Fetch three eggs from Rosie’s nest Vanilla too, pure is best A cube of butter will be quite nice and a cup of brown sugar, packed so tight Four cups of flour from the golden wheat grown on the plains, vast and deep To this, baking soda, to make them rise and a touch of salt to savor Cream the sugars, eggs and butter Watch me close, and learn from Mother Now we’ll fold in the flour mix with ease Pour in some chocolate chips,...
