Tonight will be a fend for yourself or eat a tv dinner night!

Since I won't be here to cook or guide a helper to cook, no one will attempt it. So I say...open a can of soup, grill up some dogs (the little ones, you know made from who knows what), make some pasta and toss it with the salad shrimp and butter (plus whatever else your heart -or stomach- desires,... Spaghetti and meatballs,

Yum. yum....this has become a comfort food for us....when everyone, or almost everyone has had an absolutely horrible day, this is what we want! This is what we had today...I cooked this up after work, while one son was watching tv, another playing computer and hubby doing who knows what (he got... Sign in to see full entry.

There's a bone in my leg!

Yesterday, after a long, long day of shopping for college necessities, I decided to treat the two members of the family who were with me to Chines Buffet. Mostly, this was at their prompting, but since I was in no hurry to get home, I consented. I am not a very adventurous eater and I always have to... Sign in to see full entry.

No more cooked breakfast kids!

Well, school has begun in earnest and the mornings are rushed once again. So yes, that means no more cooked breakfast. No eggs and bacon, pancakes and sausages, bagel sandwiches, hash browns and over easy, etc. Wow, that's too bad because now I am hungry. Whatever it is about school days, they are... I don't know what everyone has been eating for three days...

Usually, I am the good mom who cooks every day but I haven't for three days. I have not been home and I have not even tried to leave a note as to what they could do. Why bother? They will not read the note or even look for it and will mumble and grumble anyway. So, I don't know what they have had.... Sign in to see full entry.

What's up with hard water?

Technically, hard water has more minerals in it than soft water. Specifically, there will be a lot of calcium and magnesium in your water. This can be beneficial to your diet. Hard Water isn't for hard heads

We are blessed with the very hardest of waters in our well. Okay, I mislead...it is a 15 out of a 16. Nonetheless, it is very hard. My hubby hates it because everyone at work has a water softener and I refuse to get one. Why? Well. soft water tastes like muck, especially when you add anything to it.... Sign in to see full entry.

Light my fire, will ya

Tonight, we really wanted to grill up some burgers and dogs. We got everything together and the scout volunteered to cook. Wonderful, way to go, a break for me! The grill, however, would not cooperate. The tank was semi-full, the weather was cooperating, and apparently, that was not enough. So we... Sign in to see full entry.

"You're working the meat too hard!"

This is what my hubby said to my son as he was trying to grill some dinner for us. The poor kid didn't know what the heck his dad was trying to say and what's more, neither did I. Okay, he has it on the grill and it is cooking a little bit too fast- well, yes, there is a bit of a grill fire, a fat... Sign in to see full entry.
