5 th November is Guy Fawkes Day or Bonfire night in England. After the death of Queen Elizabeth in 1603, her successor James I carried on the policy of persecution of the Catholics. 13 young men, led by Robert Catesby, decided to blow up the house of Parliament and the king when he came to open it....
