The sad thing is...
Stats can be run to say pretty much whatever you want them to say and no one really knows the reality of the situation. One side can work stats so that they back up their position and someone else can run a whole different set of numbers to back up their side. I aced statistics in college and loved them but I know from experience that whoever is entering the numbers enters them with the anticipation of how the results will come out.
