Republican Senators Stand Up To Bush on Torture -- Yes !!!
The Senate Armed Services Committee voted 15-9 today to today recommend a bill that would set up military courts to prosecute suspected terrorists without changing the U.S. reading of the Geneva Conventions. Bush announced he will reject such a bill. My Republican hero’s of the day are Susan Collins of Maine, John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and John Warner of Virginia, chairman of the committee. These 4, with great integrity, joined the committee's 11 Democrats in voting...

Iraq’s Prime Minister and Iran’s President Meet – Results of the Invasion
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, right, greets Iraqi PM Nuri al-Maliki in Tehran on Tuesday. TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- Iran's president -- hosting a visit from Iraq's prime minister and expressing support for his country's beleaguered war-torn neighbor -- says the Islamic republic supports a "united" Iraq and will help the nation "establish full security," an Iranian news agency reported. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad spoke at a news conference with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki after private talks were...

A "leaked" Pentagon document of August 16th from the chief of intelligence for the Marine Corps in Iraq says, "We haven't been defeated militarily but we have been defeated politically -- and that's where wars are won and lost." Col. Pete Devlin's classified assessment states that local government has collapsed and the central government has almost...

House Members Should Be Ashamed -- And Voted Out of Office
The House was back in session last week. They’ve worked 80 days so far this session, and plan on another 15. What a killer schedule, eh? No WONDER they don’t get much done in the House. This will be a new record for “fewest days on the job” of any session. Maybe they should show up for work! But last week, back from summer recess, was the limit. All members of the House should all be ashamed, but especially the Rules Committee, for avoiding issues which are crucial to our nation, and apparently...

Fearmongering – Right Wing Mantra For the Mid-Term Elections
Those not supporting the Republicans were last week labeled supporters of fascism, and Bush is at it again today. In true Republican Party “authoritarian” style to control and manipulate the masses, we will now receive a steady diet of fear, fear, and more fear, and dissembling and outright lies, to encourage the electorate to be “afraid” in the hopes they can convince us all we should vote for the Republicans in the upcoming elections, because the Democrats won’t protect us and the Democrats...
