Smoke and Mirrors Following the Foley Scandal

Thursday the news broke about the questionable behavior of Representative Foley. Friday he resigned from office. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday we followed a variety of "new" news about Foley in the press. Wednesday the FBI decided to seal his office and confiscate his computers. Beautiful, just beautiful. The Foley machine / Republican machine had more than six days to remove files, clean up hard drives, and remove traces of inappropriate behavior. A Senate committee last week rejected Bush’s proposed strategies for interrogating and trying enemy combatants. Bush came back at them with both barrels, typical “my way or the highway” mentality, and... Sign in to see full entry.
