Why Is Nobody Responding to My 54,600.90 Check?

I have written an email to the company upon which the check was drawn. I have tried to find a private email for the CFO. I have heard absolutely nothing. I am not giving up.... The Sheriff's Department Follows Up

Took a call yesterday morning from the County Sheriff's detective assigned to my case #. He wanted to make sure I had gotten through to the FBI. The checks are stolen checks, usually from Large multinational companies. You deposit the money in your account and transfer the 90% to (in this case, Hong Kong) their account. The story is getting stranger and stranger. I have put off the contact in England for just about as long as I can. My latest communique tells him that I do not know why the Bank has been dragging its feet. He instructs me to transfer the 90% to a bank account in Hong Kong!!! As of today's writing,... But.... the originating bank reported some fraudulent activity associated with that account. Photo copies of my precious check were sent to that bank and I was given my original check back to frame (with void written on the back). I Just Received a Check for $45,600.90 in the mail.

I was contacted at a legitimate import/export site on the web. The man identified himself as the owner and CEO of a large Toy company in England.
