Breaking Bread

Every Monday after lunch, mum baked four loaves of bread. She'd stand in our small kitchen wearing the apron with the big pockets. There'd be flour up to her elbows as she kneaded and kneaded the dough, then split it into four and neatly popped it into the well used baking tins. The smell that came... Sign in to see full entry.

My 1995

On September 14th, 1995, I went with my friends *Carla and *Mark to the Celtic bar for a few drinks after work. I was recently seprated, not unhappy just ungrounded and alone. We met up with a couple of Mark's friends, one a newly recruited Policeman who was celebrating starting work at the local... Sign in to see full entry.

Megan had looked forward to the staff Christmas party for months. It promised to be a swanky affair at the Millenium, full open bar, a... Sign in to see full entry.

Day at the Beach, Continued.

... He hadn't realised he had been staring at the girl and quickly looked away, eyes welling up. Jack fumbled furiously with the zip on his track pants pocket, his arthritic fingers took forever to work, he finally withdrew his hanky and wiped the salty tears from his eyes. Maybe he should have... Sign in to see full entry.

Day at the Beach

Stepping off the bus Jack took in the cloudless sky, the yellow-gold sand, the teal blue sea and smiled. He re-arranged his things to making them easier to carry. The fold up chair was always awkward but it was more comfortable than sitting on the sand and far easier to get back up again. He wasn't... Sign in to see full entry.
