I Have New Knees!
Wow, It's been 4 weeks and 5 days since I had bilateral knee replacement surgery. I am so grateful for the technology available to give me back pain-free walking and a much improved quality of life. I learned some things about myself during recovery and learned once again how many people I have who love and support me unconditionally. And now it is time to move on. Which for me means...leaving blogit. I have enjoyed reading and writing. It gave me something meanigful to do during the weeks...

When Will The Last Male Chauvinist Die?!?!
I don't even know the guys name, but who is the idiot that said Danica Patrick should dress is white like all kitchen appliances? Are we not past that kind of crap! One thing I noticed about Danica in her interviews is that she was a "Racer." Not a man or a woman but a racer. She had the attitude, the language, and the skill. And contrary to what was true of the women of my generation who dared to break into traditinally male dominated sports, she made no apologies for her sucsess or her desire...

Give Me Drugs Or Give Me Death!!!
Does it strike anyone else as truly amazing... the stance the Supreme Court took on medicinal use of marijuana that had been approved in 12 states? It stirkes me as downright unbelievable. The whole culture surrounding drugs in the United States baffles me. We are a nation that pops pills for everything...prescription or not. We tax and make money on two of the biggest drugs...good 'ole alcohol and tobacco. It's like that old routine of George Carlin's "The Seven Words You Can't Say On...

The Problem Isn't Christianity...It's Religion!!!!
I have come to believe over the years that being a Chrisitan and being involved in a religion are not necessarily synonymous. I believe there are definitely Christians who are not at all about the teachings of Christ but are everything about religion. The issue may be that we are designed to be religious about something. But religious and religion are not even the same thing. For me religion is a bunch of rules and dogma that have nothing to do with biblically based messages. Also, if we are not...

High School Ain't What it Used to Be!?! HELP!
My daughter is just completing her junior year and she can't wait to be done. Our school system is on a trimester program. So she will be graduating in November of next year. I am amazed when I talk to kids these days. It seems the vast majority really can't wait to be done. Now mind you I didn't want to stay in hgih school and was excited when I graduated. I moved on and never went back to my hometown. I went to the state's biggest city for nine years after college and then to a smaller town in...

Life Sucks and Then You Die!
That's what I used to think...or so I said. But I didn't really. I was one of those people who pretty much had a good time no matter what. But I have been kind and cynical. I've been happy and sad. I've been really active and extremely sedentary. I've lived pain free and with pain every day. I've been healthy and fat. I've been so many things. Right now I'm really fat and 50 and getting ready for a double knee replacement. I guess it is that time when I really must pay the piper for all my...

Hate Bites!
I stopped using the word seriously years ago. But after my post yesterday in which I used the word, and after reading several other blogs including good'ole Limey's, it strikes me that Hate really is a problem. It's fashionable to hate but certainly not fathomable. It requires so much negative energy and does nothing to improve the world. In fact, it is such a powerful negative emotion that it probably blocks sooooo many good "things" from rising to the forefront. I suppose those who are truly...

Don't you just hate all the people that hate Americans?!?!?!?!?
Well, well! It is beyond me why people love to hate Americans but at the first sign of trouble in the world, if we're not there, then we get bashed for not being involved. Especially when human rights issues are at stake. Well, world...you can't have it both ways. You can't hate us except when you need us. We're certainly not trying to turn everyone into "Little Uncle Sams." We have never started a war or gone into a country to try and make them embrace our way of life. We have gone in when...

A God we can't comprehend!
I read something that Mysticgmekeeper posted and it prompted me to write this and share this poem that I wrote before Easter this year. The thought that prompted this was that it's hard sometimes to understand God. And you know what...it really should be.I learned this from one of my pastor's messages. He struck a chord deep within me.We are created in his image but are not him. Just because he knows what we're going to do doesn't mean there isn't free will. He can know what we'll do before we...

Do I really have anything to say with my writing??
Oh the wonder of open forum. I finally have the chance to write and in just a week I find myself wondering if what I want to write is worth it. So I find that now I must evaluate what I really want my blog sight to be about. So far it has just been random thoughts and"stuff." And maybe it will continue to be... but I find that I am feeling a certian obligation to make my sight one of quality if not significance. Now I must ponder what qulity really means to me. And I must ponder whether it will...
