It appears it is always bill paying time around my house. I hate it if I have to pay a penalty for being late etc.. Apparently last month I let the power bill fall through the tracks. Did not believe it when I gt a second notice to pay with a penalty. Friday night I ran down and put the check including the late fee into the night deposit. I have learned to not make New Year's resolutions. I now take life one day at a time, literally. I decided to give that chore to God. I do promise to accept each day with as much joy as is possible for what it is, regardless of the weight. I will fight Fybromyalgia with anything I know to help. This was such a busy season for us this year. After all the visiting we needed to do with people we did not even know but we came away blessed and hope they too were blessed. Yesterday we visited George's youngest brother who is in a hospital about two hours from us. It was such a joy to see him and his wife and see what an up spirit he was in. Today Mama is perhaps in labor but that is followed by the most important and most famous birth in history. Baby Jesus. Baby Jesus born as the Lamb of God. Jesus was crucified as the sacrificial Lamb. He is now in Heaven as a Priest of God. So we are to celebrate his birthday to enjoy ourselves for the grace and gratitude his life in this world has afforded us. This season is so busy many get nervous or depressed at the work they are attempting. You see we are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Of course we do not know the date. My baby boy! Oh well he is my baby boy grandson the only one I have. He just turned fifteen in July and I know there is something wrong with the calendar, I was watching him struggle with walking a step or two just a few weeks ago. Well it seems so. I have been around a long time. I was born in the South, I went to college in the North. I have lived on a farm and in cities. I have seen more than I want to remember, know more than I need to know or use and so much of what may be most important are those things I do not know. Despite all that it is such a strange thing to me when people call anything by the name they choose rather than the reality. Today is a very important day to me. I am tankful daily for the blessings I have. But to set aside a day to be thankful is so important to me. It is not about a turkey and all the fixings it is about God, people, life and all the goodness in the world. Yes there is lots of bad but there is so much good. Today I am making food for a church supper Sunday evening. I am so looking forward to that. I love to cook but more than that I love to watch people enjoy eating the food I have cooked. I love church suppers because many women feel just as I do and they bring their best and love seeing all enjoy. Would you have ever thought that there could be so much snow as there is now? I could not have, but more importantly that all the weather patterns are different as well a lot of other things are simply strange. The sun is shinning beautifully, it is nice outside and cozy inside. I have a feeling our gas bill will be as large as the rest of the town this month. I kept thinking it was running to much.Today I kept tinkering with lowering the thermostat and it still did not go off. I read that beautiful French Canadian Redhead's post this morning and it just gave me a good kick start into an up day! I read the love and laughter in almost every line and remembered the not too distant past. We were with her in the loss of a brother, recently before that a sister, some dearly loved pets, a mix up in the closeness of her sweet grandsons and a big mess in her business all of these are difficult happenings. I appreciate the votes cast for a difference in congress. However, I feel all of us should put it off a bit before we begin prognosticating the outcomes. These new people are not in office yet.
