SUGAH JUST PRAY, YE HEAR!

Weeds are bad in Daddy’s wheat field now He’ll likely lose most of the crop They spread through the fields like rumors in church Wind themselves ‘round the stem; choke off the heads I can hear granny and mamma talking as if it were this morning’ They’d chat ‘bout God ‘n’ stuff Mostly as they put by food for the winter Voices stuck in my head, didn’t make sense then; does now God commanded us to have no other Gods, granny said Sugah those people worshiping stuff don’t know it is idolatry, pray...
