My Favorite 49er Quarterback?"---John Brodie--By Jim Rodrigues (Part One)

I've been a S.F. 49er/Stanford fan since before JFK ran for president. Since before space satellites even existed. The Niners had a pair of recent hall-of-famers in the greatest QB of all-time, Joe Montana and the greatest all-around QB in history, Steve Young. Both were massive blessings to the City by the Bay. They were literally speaking, miracles! But looking back across my many years of cheering for the cardinal and gold, my "favorite" QB was John Brodie. The first time I saw Brodie play,... Sign in to see full entry.

At The Baseball Card Show with Mays, Cepeda and Flood! - By James Rodrigues

It was 1985 or so. I was already too old to be trying to meet my heros for the first time, but what the heck! Willie Mays was the featured autograph signer and I was in "the pay to get inked line." I had an old 'Sport Magazine' in my hand and I was looking forward meeting "The Say Hey Kid." Who IS this Buster Posey guy and why is S.F. already crazy about him?

By Jim Rodrigues We really don't know diddily about this kid yet, but Giants' fans are all a twitter about a 21-year old phenom. I guess the best thing so far about Buster Posey (aside from his enchanting moniker) are his college stats. His final season at Florida State was absurd. He was the top player in the nation and his numbers were totally "out-the-roof!" Maybe bay area die-hards are reminded of one of their very favorite players of the past thirty years, Will Clark. He came out of... Sign in to see full entry.

The Total Answer to the San Francisco 49er Offensive Problems!

The 49er offensive design is a good news-bad news "joke." The good news; they already have the man who creates the biggest offense to defense mismatch in NFL history. The bad news is their coaches have absolutely no clue on how to use him. "Mr. Mismatch" is the wrongly positioned tight end, Vernon Davis. Everyone involved with the 49ers from owner to fan knows Davis runs the 40 in a blazing 4.4 seconds. They also know he weighs a rock solid 250 pounds. By using this spectacular receiver... The 1997 Hansons were the Most Entertaining Group Ever

I realize many of you will think I'm kidding, 'Baby-Boomer-Crazy' or both, but after further scrutiny, I'm calling "The 1997 Hansons" the most entertaining group ever. So why, you may ask, do I specify The "1997" Hansons as the ultimate entertainers, rather than just leaving it at what they call themselves now --"Hanson?" It's like comparing the 1957 T-Bird to the 1977 T-Bird. The more recent car was a fine vehicle but the '57 was a miracle. It's like comparing the 1960 Elvis Presley to the 1975...
