I've Thrown My Back Out --

So very annoying. I went to the chiropractor on Wednesday, and then again today. He's such a great guy. Not only does he do some gentle realignment "crunches," but he also does ultrasound and massage, and then sends me on my way with new stretching exercises. Today was no exception; I've got about... Oh To Be Able To Swear A Stream Of Invectives and Foul Words . . . .

There are sometimes I would love to let rip with a howl a slew of four letter words. Somehow my conservative Christian upbringing just won't let me do that. So instead I stomp and mutter and attempt to find other ways to cool my jets. It happens rarely, but it certainly happened today. And oh how I... Sign in to see full entry.

Is There ANYTHING BETTER Than Spaghetti and Chocolate Cake?

That's what we had for dinner last evening -- the nine of us -- along with fruit salad, Caesar salad and sweet potatoes with butter. That bit about butter is important. My sister has never liked butter; therefore, her children don't routinely have it, and yet they LOVE butter! So when they come to... Sign in to see full entry.

Discovery: Dogs DON'T Metabolize Almonds!!

(This is not for the faint of heart.) The darling auld mutt got into my work bag the other day and et up all my almonds. OK, a little history here. Old Jane would like to live to see her 40th birthday, and therefore tries to eat healthy foods, and consequently will frequently take fruit and raw... Sign in to see full entry.

Tonight's Menu -- Rather Soft, Think I Should Re-Think This?

My fav NP friend is coming this evening to hang out for awhile. We always have a great time together and I'm sure this will be no different. But here's my dilemma. I am planning my menu, and thinking it seems rather soft, sort of like an "edentulous" type diet. (For those of you not in the know --... Sign in to see full entry.

If YOU Could Have ANY Job in the WORLD -- What Would YOU Choose?

I was pondering that this afternoon. I just came in from being outside, raking old leaves, picking up twigs, doing general winter clean up and yes, having a wonderful time on a gorgeous 40 degree day with azure blue skies and twittering birds. If I could have any job in the world, what would I... Sign in to see full entry.

A Chorus of Horns -- Honking Horns!

I was laughing this morning at what I heard, as I unloaded my groceries into the back of my car. It started gradually -- the music. First was someone's car alarm blaring -- that noxious honking horn. After about five seconds it stopped, only for someone else's car alarm to go off (perhaps... Sign in to see full entry.

It Happened AGAIN! Carded at 39!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So yes, I was in the same store, different cashier and buying wine. Only this time I came prepared with my driver's license. And wouldn't you know, but this cashier also asked for ID. This time I was prepared, and promptly showed her proof of my age. As happened the last time, this cashier... Sign in to see full entry.

HEALTHY Choc. Chip Cookies -- JanesO's Kitchen Experiments!!!

I double dog dare you to try making these, and tell me if they aren't just as good, or better than what you can find in the store (or possibly even make at home). I have this favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe that the whole family loves. I'm sure it's no secret and perhaps you have made this... Sign in to see full entry.

Alpha Males on the Run . . . .

I read an article about alpha male wolves attacking each other on the Lake Superior island of Isle Royale. The wolf numbers were declining due to a bunch of different factors, including lack of moose to feed off of, an infestation of ticks and even an outbreak of parvovirus. I had no clue that the...
