Open Invitation To JanesO's Garden Party!

Sometimes you just have one of those days that are one in a million. Such was mine today. I love it when I can be ultra productive, enjoy quality time with family (this time via phone), do a little writing, exercise, and enjoy gorgeous weather. These treasures don't come along quite every weekend,... Sign in to see full entry.

Naked and Peeved . . .

Yeah, that got your attention, eh? I stopped at the health food store and bought two dozen eggs and a small bottle of Naked brand fruit smoothie, blueberry flavor. It was expensive but looked good and I was both hungry and thirsty, and this was chock full of ultra healthy stuff. So back in the car I... Sign in to see full entry.

I Met A Delightful Man Today . . . .

Eighty six years young he is. I'd seen him in the halls before, always with a cheerful smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes -- in spite of his twisted, frail body. I'd wished that some of his smile might rub off on a few of my other patients in need of replacing a sour spirit with his cheer.... Sign in to see full entry.

Do YOU Know Where YOUR Three Year Old is at 7 AM?????

My sister told me this crazy story about the events of the morning. I was laughing my head off, and thought I'd pass it along to you. First off, a few details. My brother in law and three of the kids spent the night last night at his parents' cottage about 1.5 hours away from home. They had driven... Sign in to see full entry.

In Memory Of . . . A Few Photos From Today --

We attended the parade this morning. It began at 13th and College, and perhaps 1.5 miles later, ended at Dr. Albertus van Raalte Dr. at Pilgrim Cemetery. There was a short program, the American Legion Band played several songs, the Gettysburg Address was recited, a former vet spoke, the minister... Sign in to see full entry.

Just a Few Photos . . .

The doting auntie doing her thing. So hard to resist, after all, with these wonderful kids. Anyway, regarding these photos, the one is of Abbie -- she's at the top (you cannot see it here but she's on a float in the parade). The other is of Stewart with his tenor sax. The photos I took of him in the... Sign in to see full entry.

I’ve Changed, Folks – And it’s All For the Better!

I've changed the title of this blog, since I seem only to find time to blog on the weekends. And whether that’s better or not, only time will tell. At the very least perhaps it will assuage any guilt I may have for not blogging more. I was waiting in line (patiently, of course) at the post office... Sign in to see full entry.

Rain, Rain, Rain and MORE RAIN Soaked Tulips . . . .

We do get the weather here in West Michigan, and for the last few days we have had a low pressure system slowly circling overhead. Yesterday we had winds up to 50 miles per hour. Needless to say, my parents' flight into Grand Rapids did not arrive. They holed up in Chicago overnight, arriving today.... Sign in to see full entry.

It Pays To Be SICK!

Ol Jane here is home with a rotten cold, sore throat, fever and the usual aching neck and back. I told my keepers at work that my plan was to rest today, hopefully work tomorrow, and then attempt to schedule an appt with my doc on Thursday (she doesn't work on Tuesdays). I've had it up to my eye... Sign in to see full entry.
