Perpetual Exhaustion

It's probably not healthy for a person to feel exhausted all of the time. When I wake up in the morning (which might be any time between 5am and 10am any given day), I have been feeling completely depleted of energy for the last week. Interesting phenomenon. I have also been going to bed earlier at... Sign in to see full entry.

You've got to be kidding me! A 7.5 minute mile?

I pride myself on being in shape. I mean, I can play volleyball for hours upon end without getting tired, right? I can go drinking all night long, wake up still drunk, and run around in a gym without tiring out. I can even play video games all night long, go to work, then go out on the town then... OD'ing on Advil:

Is it possible to overdose on Advil? I don't know about you, but in my circles which are comprised almost exclusively of volleyball players, there are a few of us *ahem* who are a little bit more hardcore than the normal player. This would apply to any sport: basketball, baseball, football, hockey,... Sign in to see full entry.

Low Carb Wine!

Are you kidding me?! Has this low-carb craze sweeping the nation really gone so far? First there was low carb beer (which I have never tried, thank goodness!) Now there's low carb wine? Apparently, it is a hit because of the 'low-carb' sticker attached to the bottle. The Brown-Forman company... Sign in to see full entry.

Chaser, a cure for the hangover?

Quite the appropriate name, but what's going on here? Is it possible that contrary to everything our health ed teacher's told us, that there actually can be a cure for the hangover?!? Imagine my surprise when a cheesy commercial featuring a dubious looking gentleman appeared, advertising literally a... Sign in to see full entry.

How to prevent scarring?

Can anyone else share whether they have heard this or not? My friend saw the burn scar forming on my hand and told me that if I rub lotion into the scar as it is healing, that the scarring will be lessened when my hand finally does heal. It almost kinda makes sense, but not really. Has anyone else... Sign in to see full entry.

Soda CAN kill you. Your great great great grandmommy was right.

That's the conclusion you might leap to if you ran across this MSN article the other day. Apparently, there is a link to an increased incidence of esophageal disease and increased consumption of carbonated beverages. Personally, I can believe it, but wouldn't put much stock in it, but read for... Sign in to see full entry.

Watermelon: A salve for the flu?

I first learned of this a few years back, because my then-girlfriend insisted, every time she was down with the flu, that I supply her with a fresh watermelon. I didn't believe her at first, but after she started feeding me watermelon whenever I had the flu, I did notice that I would feel immensely... Sign in to see full entry.

The verdict on Cold-eez

If you've been reading this blog, then you know that exactly 8 days ago, I began talking Cold-eez as a homeopathic alternative to my bread and butter: drugs to combat the common cold. Many people, including several bloggers, have provided testimonials attesting to to its efficacy. There's nothing... Sign in to see full entry.

Cold-eeze Update

I haven't really checked to see if something's going around, but it seems like something's always going around, whether it's the flu, the common cold, smallpox, measles, herpes (whoops!), or the bubonic plague. A day after I started taking cold-eeze, I feel much weaker than I felt yesterday, but... Sign in to see full entry.
