The Djinn (genies) are the dirty little secret of the Muslim religion. I suppose the lore started as part of the animistic spirit-worship of the Arab people before Mohammed came along… but Mohammed gave it new life by including it in the Koran (Chapter xv:27 and Chapter lv:14), describing the Djinn...
