Somebody’s Baby--Somebody’s Lady

I used to be somebody’s baby. She used be somebody’s lady. What went so wrong? Why do we always sing a sad song? Now I am nobody’s baby. She is nobody’s lady. What went so wrong? Why do we no longer belong to anyone? Why do we not belong to each other like we once did? We cared so deeply. What... Sign in to see full entry.

The White Casket

This was written for a man in Australia that told me he had just gotten back from the funeral of a two-year-old girl. She was the daughter of a friend of his and was buried in a white casket. I wrote this and sent it to him for his friend in hopes that it might help with their grief in some way.... Sign in to see full entry.

Country

Country through and through. Only and always that’s what I’ll be. Udderly shudder at rap and hard rock too. Now country music is all I listen too. Tried others when I was younger. Rock and Roll was okay for awhile, but could never replace Country with me. That’s what I think! That’s what I say!... Sign in to see full entry.

Heads or Tails

We came to a parting of our ways. You wanted it to end; My life with you I wanted to spend. You said, "We will flip a coin to decide." Into the air, you flipped the coin. Occasionally

Your loving arms surround me. They fit nicely around me. I am yours; You are mine. I am yours, when I feel your touch. I am yours always, and always will be. You are mine only when you want to be. I want you always; You only want me--occasionally. Sign in to see full entry.

The Casket II

This is another sad one that isn't written about any particular person. It is just that I sometimes feel the need to write sad poems. I have several that have to do with cemeteries and caskets. I hope that you all like it. The Casket II The Casket of a child sat there. It was full of the parent’s... Sign in to see full entry.

Destiny

It must have been destiny. It had to be-- Destiny that I meet you-- Destiny that you meet me. We were meant to be together--forever. You are my wife; you are my lover. If I had not met you, I would have no wife. I would have no lover. I want no other for my wife or lover; You are my entire life. Sign in to see full entry.

Your Smiling Face

I see your smile-- I see the smile in your eyes, And I see it in your face. You are a dear lady and friend. I hope our friendship never ends. It is a pleasure to see you smiling-- Even when I only see you in my mind’s eye-- And I see them in my dreams. I remember what a thrill it gave me to see your... Sign in to see full entry.
