I cringe everytime they say it... in dramas, in live conversation, in stories, anywhere there is dialog about consigning some miscreant to judicial confinement... Can no one come up with a better and... Sign in to see full entry.

I, me, us, we...

Okay... When is it "I" and when is it "me"? And why oh why do even journalists get this wrong when it is actually so easy to get it right? Singulars we get right, usually. But add in someone else, as in "my friend and I" or "my friend and me" and it all goes wonky. The grammatical explanation is... Sign in to see full entry.

Common and familiar doesn't make it correct.

And since when is 'alright' a word? 'Already' is a word. 'Almost' is a word. Alright' is not a word. It is 'all right' and means just that. 'Already' means something different from 'all ready' and 'all most' is just silly, and is not the same as 'almost.' It is not all right to use 'alright'... Sign in to see full entry.
