Ups and downs with feathers
I saw the dove in an odd posture this morning, and I am thinking she is laying her two little white eggs today. Starting the countdown... 2 weeks to hatching, 2 more to flying. One of my original two parakeets has died. Seeing him just lying on the bottom of the cage, it was clear he was gone. I adopted these two, the young female, the older male, four years ago last spring. He was, they told me, ~5 years old. So 9 is very good innings for a 'keet, and this was not unexpected.
