The power is still on, the game hens and artichokes are out of the oven, and I have turned up the heat in case the power does go for a lengthy time: the house will stay warm a while longer if it's too hot now. I will have warm food to eat, and the freezer will remain closed to conserve its icy climate. There are several inches of snow collected where the wind doesn't get at it.
