Cream Tea in Chipping, and chickens

My daughter's mother in law gave her a coupon for a cream tea in the little town of Chipping, across the valley and behind Longridge Fell. A cream tea is the kind served with little crustless sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream, and some bite-sized cakes. One imagines fine china and silver, dainty porcelain cups and teapots, table cloths...
