Making a bed

I have an overnight guest tomorrow, and having changed the guest room into a study, I had to shove a few things around today so she would not have to sleep on the couch. By 'today' of course, I mean 'tonight' and by 'I' that includes a lot of Charlie. The bed itself was in parts and pieces, but they were all here and there around the garage, and now they are all come together in good and comfortable beddiness. another hoarfrosty morning

It's so lovely, when every branch and twig, every long needle on the pine trees, and the short blunt one on the fir and spruce, are lightly coated in white frost! It's one of those moments here today. It never lasts, so it is that much more to be enjoyed and appreciated. I am doing so now, in a warm house, breakfast beside me, James Galway playing over the bubbling fish tank and the tocking clocks, and the low hissing fireplace fan... I am one of the lucky ones.
