Blowing snow....
Left the house early this morning(about 6am) because of wind and snow. The hour and a half drive took about 3 hours over ice and snow with poor visibility. Halfway there everything cleared up so my 20 or 30 mi perhour trek could speed up to 70 mph. Amazingly, on the way home it was almost as if there had never been a storm.... The drive home was much much easier to manage....

A colleague died suddenly.....
...today after a catastrophic illness of only a few days. And everyone at work and in the community is impacted---mainly b/c of how kind and Christlike he always was. It wasn't that he did anything big or that things didn't get to him. Just that in all the little things in life he always chose the kind choice. His life definitely has an impact on many others.

A pizza party last night after church....
...I usually don't stay long, but ended up at a table with facinating people and discussion. So we stayed til 10 pm. The children and I will be tired today, but the fellowship was worth it....This single mom journey gets lonely sometimes.....

Day is done...
....It was a different sort of day. A friend had asked if my youngest son could read a small child part on an audio project. So we got to go to the small studio. I ended up encouraging the friend to have the boys ping pong the part each taking turns with it. They've been in lots of plays, so they tend to push each other to do their best. It was fun....I even got to read a part. I miss doing theatre type things....So the day was truly a blessing....

Tired today....
....maybe that is why I feel discouraged with chronic staff issues at work. Oh well. It does get tiring to have to make the hard calls when colleagues might disagree with me....But my job puts me on the front line after hours and after everyone else has gone home. So if we let things get lax during the work day, not only to a get to see the results, but I get to assume the responsibility for what others have not done....
