Back on a healthy diet and exercise path tomorrow!

The weekend was fabulous, but I ate and drank far too much, so tomorrow its back to a healthy way of life. I did go for a couple of walks on the weekends, but I got out of bed pretty late each day, so I’m looking forward to my early morning walks starting tomorrow. Sign in to see full entry.

Three dietless days ahead

Well, I'm off to Adelaide for the weekend - spending Friday to Sunday there in order to help my friend celebrate her birthday. I seriously doubt I will be watching my diet too closely! Next week I will be back on track... Sign in to see full entry.

The first day of summer is winter

I didn’t go on my walk this morning because the weather had turned back to winter. It was cold, raining and blowing a gale when I got up so I decided not to brave the elements. I really missed not walking. All day I’ve felt as if something was not quite right and I think it’s the lack of exercise... Sign in to see full entry.

I broke one of my rules

Today I broke one of my own rules today, which is to never eat unless I’m hungry. Usually I’m good at sticking to this rule, but today I had to have my lunch break at a certain time, so I was forced to eat when I wasn’t hungry. I’ve found that waiting until I’m hungry to eat, means that I don’t eat... Sign in to see full entry.

Never too young to be healthy

I was reminded the other day that one is never too young to be set on the right path for good health. Most of our eating habits and therefore our battles with weight and disease are set in early life by our parents. We then as parents should be extra vigilant with what we give our children to eat.... We all know the major movie and music stars across the world stay taut, trim and terrific because they can afford to hire their own personal trainers, chefs and nutritionists to force them to eat the right things and exercise often enough. Most of us also know that these same stars will go to... Sign in to see full entry.

Summer means……gelato!

I love gelato, especially in summer. I’m not much of an icecream person and I will eat some frozen yoghurts, but gelato gets me every time! Lemon, strawberry, almond are all my favourites. I love the tartness of the lemon, its my ultimate favourite. I think I will have to stock up on some gelato... Sign in to see full entry.

Summer fruit

Summer is the only season during which I eat a lot of fruit. I'm sure its a visual need as much as for taste. Walking past the green grocers or the display in the supermarket makes me want to buy up all the luscious looking fruit and gorge myself on their flavours. Melons of every variety, sweet and... Food Phases

I tend to go through phases with food. One week I will want nothing more than pasta, the next it will be rice and the next well, who knows. I know that at times my body craves for certain vitamins and supplements, like the times I just have to have spinach are probably the times I am most iron... Sign in to see full entry.

Thanksgiving Blues

This will be the first year in awhile that my boys haven't been around for Thanksgiving. It means that I won't be cooking the feast I usually have. I'm feeling a bit sad about that. Cooking for one can often be a challenge, especially in holiday season. The last two nights I've just had grilled... Sign in to see full entry.
