Thinking 'And' instead of 'Either/Or'
The very act of city-building is to remove a culture's contact with the natural world. Humans wanted to be safer from the elements, more in control of their comfort and food-security. The bigger our cities got, the greater the remove, the greater the tendency take for granted all that comes to us only through nature.
