I have read the Bible through--probably went very quickly over the begats--more than once, and while I don't recall it by chapters and verses, I have looked for the history, for the teachings, for the variety of voices, and most especially for the thread that runs through from beginning to end. With all its contradictions, with all the many voices, the stories and biographies, with all the teachings, all the rules and laws about living properly, there is one consistant message: Don't forget you...
