Confession

There is a spiritual principle of confession. This principle states that you get what you say. So if you talk positively about God's care for you, then you will get it. If on the other hand, you are always talking about how bad the world is, then it will be bad. This is a difficult principle to... Sign in to see full entry.

Summary

I've written extensively about this so I will not summarize anymore. In addition to all that happened to kelly, Brenda went through her own growing pains. Just like most of us, her story isn't over. Unlike most of us, it will take a lot of courage and hard work on her part to get things together.... Sign in to see full entry.

God carries me.

This year, if you count years as starting in September and ending in August, has been the worst year of my life. When Kelly was first diagnosed with Manic depression, I felt that my daughter had died. It wasn't the diagnosis, but her behavior. She was no longer the intense but funny girl who... About Gnomedome

I probably agree with ghomedome on a lot of things. i am a Christian but I know that even with the revelation of scriptures, tradition, and the Holy Spirit, I don't know very much about God or the universe. This explosion of knowledge that we have doesn't made me feel less ignorant but more. Even if... Sign in to see full entry.

Principles before Personalities or People before Rules

Principles before personalities works really well when you are running a clean and sober house. If someone breaks the rules, they get thrown out. These rules are usually about using drugs, staying out all night, getting arrested, etc. One drug users in the middle of a clean and sober house endangers... Sign in to see full entry.

Humble Leadership

Many pastors think that they have to appear flawless from the pulpit. I on the other hand would tell stories on myself all the time. Yesterday I met with my sponsee, who is trying to become most stable in her habits. She has a hard time paying bills and a hard time getting up the same time everyday,... Sign in to see full entry.

I always cry in church,

when something is difficult to deal with in my life. I don't cry about the sad things but about jesus's love for me. The song that gets me the most, now is 'I'll never know how much it cost, to nail my sins upon that cross.' That paired with scenes of the Passion sends me to instant tears.... Making Decisions

What does it take to make the right decisions? Knowledge would be the best thing to have, but along with that would be wisdom. You can know a lot but still be unable to make the best choice because you can't see the future or know what is important. Many young adults spend all of their time working... Against the Grain

Most of what we read and watch on television and movies comes out of the current worldview. The Bible does not. It doesn't matter what age you live in, the Bible goes against our standard way of looking at things. Many times in the gospels, the reaction of the crowd to Jesus was to pick up stones to... God is good, even though things are bad.

I know it seems illogical to think that God is good when things are so bad for us. Although Kristina is willifully going against all that she knows, she is also very sick. The Creator and Substainer should be able and willing to cure her and restore her to sanity, right now. We go to a church that... Sign in to see full entry.
