No excuses

No excuses for being late with this update... I just forgot and then my week got busy. So, let's start from last Friday night. It was my brother's turn to choose the films so he put on Mozart's "The Marriage Of Figaro" as a double bill with... well, he said I'd never guess so I bet I would. The only... Sorry About The Delay

Well, it's been two weeks since my last entry. Things have become busy again. We raced my dear old dad into hospital again, just in time to pick up a bug and... long story short, finally got him home yesterday. Not surprisingly I haven't watched many films in that period. I finished off the serial... Sign in to see full entry.

Back From The Film Festival

Now the film festival is over and the various panics have been and gone I can get back into my stride. My Dad's back home; I had my own little cancer scare (Doctor: "If this were America I'd have the ambulance take you straight to hospital and you'd be getting probes every which way." Me:... Another update

Not surprisingly I haven't seen too many films this time around. My father came back from hospital and then we had to hussle him back in again. At the moment he might be getting an operation (but that's still under discussion). Meantime I managed to dislocate my little finger. The swellings gone... Sign in to see full entry.

Good news (& I feel I might be just a little bit responsible). As I write this a plane is landing in the United States. On board are 75 silent films that are being sent back home by the New Zealand Film Archive. Like all countries involved in the early history of film New Zealand has been involved... Another week

Actually it's been two weeks since I last signed in. Too many people having milestone birthdays within the same time period. I risk some repetition here but my movie viewing over the last two weeks went something like this:- 1905 The Whole Dam Family & The Dam Dog Indochina - Children Gathering Rice... Update

Last week I avoided recording anything for the podcast but I did spend some time editing. The two were actually inter-related. I was working on the Corey Haim podcast and realised there was, perhaps, a little more that should be added. I needed to do a rough edit to see how it all worked and where...
