If Money Grew on Trees
I took my" little sister", my mentee, to the beach yesterday. When I was bringing her home (so I could go to work) we were at a stop sign, and there was a lot of trees draping over us. She looked at me and said, "I wish money grew on trees, that way you would never have to work." How sweet?

Trading-
A little boy came into my work yesterday, and he handed me a bag full of pacifiers. At first I didn't understand. Then his mom explained to me that he was giving them up for a bear. The mom started crying, I even almost got emotional. He was so cute the whole time. When he left he said, "Thank you...

Superman
A boy in my store today, age 5, told me that he was Superman. I said "OH?" He says "It just doesn't look like it because I am not in my outfit right now." I said, "Oh, well, if you were Superman right now I would ask you for your autograph, but I guess you're just a regular boy right now." He says,...

Magician
Okay- another bear stuffing story. Maybe I should just make a special category for that? I was stuffing a 4 year old boy's bear, and he asked how I was going to fix the hole. I told him it was magic. So- I stitched up the hole, and I ask, "Why are you clapping"? "Because you are a very good...

How A Child Makes Your Day
The girl I am mentoring left a message on my voice mail while I was at work. "I know you're at work right now, but I just wanted to call you and thank you for yesterday. I had so much fun, and I can't wait to hang out with you again. I just had to share. Isn't she the sweetest?

The Bathing Suit God
Let me start out by saying that I am mentoring an underprivelaged child from a low income family. Well, I really wanted to buy her a bathing suit for her 5th grade graduation. She doesn't have one, and I plan on taking her to the beach a lot this summer. She wanted a 2 piece, her mother wanted...

Third Grade Cool
Today's story comes from a party at work. It was a field trip of a third grade class, 17 kids. When the core part of the party was all done, and my manager was ringing up the teacher I asked the kids to come to a different area to chill out. One girl looked at me rather abruptly and said, "Chill out...

Annie & Katie
The other day at work, two young girls came into the store. I knew right away that they looked familiar, and as I started talking to them- I remembered lots about them. There names were Annie & Katie, ages 4 and 2. They had come in about 3 weeks ago to make bears for their new baby brother, Charlie....

Emmie- age 1
Today's child that has touched my life is a one-year-old girl named Emmie. I encountered her at my job at Build-A-Bear. Everytime I waved at her, she smiled and laughed. When I gave her the bear, she smiled and laughter. Everything was about smiles and laughter. It reminded me that no matter how bad...
