The Phoenix From The Ashes

The Phoenix is a persistent symbol for rebirth, from the Egyptian Osiris through the Greek and Latin, it has transformed, mutated into a symbol of personal rebirth through the scorching fiery furnace of personal tragedy. I enjoy the Greek myths, they are full-bodied, courageous renditions of the... Sign in to see full entry.

Quiet At Last

It's so quiet on our floor, the upper floor of a 3 story building, an apartment unit with 9 units. The neghbors, a family of 3, mom, Dad and screaming girl of about 8, moved suddenly, and amazingly quietly after 10 months or so of constant racket. I can wash my dishes in peace, finally, without... KAVU: Clear Above, Visibility Unlimited

I just looked outside and noticed there are blue skies, the first I've seen in days. I'm not sure what's happening with the weather here in Seattle, but right now, blue skies are a very welcome sight. I had heard that there would be more downpours and more flooding in the river plains, as well as... Sign in to see full entry.

Taking One Step At A Time

It helps me to get things down quickly, as quickly as I think of them. M bought a dining room table and chairs, we had taken down and put our old one in storage, so that I could have a writing desk (without computer) with a view. But we find that we miss actually eating at a table and not in front... Sign in to see full entry.

What Some Bloggers Will Never Understand; If They're Lucky

There's a mother-of-pearl sky outside, layers of nacreous blue-gray clouds, laid on like pastiche. The winds are so high, the wind chime is dancing merrily, constantly, and the remaining leaves fluttering like Veteran's Day flags in a parade. For the moment, it's not raining, but that could change... Sign in to see full entry.

Photo Of Blogger Blanche. With Canine Buddy At C & P

Hey, everybody, I'm still playing with the resolution, and the size. If this is too small, please let me know. A computer whiz I am not! Sign in to see full entry.

Blanche.'s Photos Under Construction (Stay Tuned)

I did get some photos taken of me today, at the usual coffee spot. I took the Olympus, and asked a few of the regulars to take a shot of me. (Like that's unusual, they're a rowdy bunch of guys, Bobby and Julian, they never stop ribbing each other, much like Ariel70 and.Dave here). I could hardly get... Sign in to see full entry.
