New Zealand tomorrow...
We are packing our stuff again today because we are going to New Zealand tomorrow morning. Hopefully my back will be up to it. It is healing well, I think, but my sciatic nerve is bothering me every time I sit. I have been trying to add a page or two on my web site but can not sit long enough to...

Beautiful winter day in Sunshine coast
The weather is still fine. there are women and their babies doing the aquaerobic in the municipal pool while the pelicans dirft lazily with the current and I hurt my back 3 days ago, so it is the first time I can sit in front of the comfuser for Blogit! Stay put for more details..... Tschus,...

The Whitsunday Magic
The tallship on which we spent 6 days is 90 feet long, weights about 200 tones (10 of which were fuel) and is called Whitsunday Magic. And Magical it was! It is a 3 masts beautiful tallship that looks much older than it actually is: I thought that it was at least 100 years old while it was built in...

I'M BACK!
Hi everyone! I'm back! Sorry if I didnn't write for a couple of weeks, but there was no internet connection on the tall ship in the middle of the Whitsundays and the connection on Heron Island (via satellite)was so slow that by the time I was connected to my e-mail or blogit, the time I bought...

Shopping for wetsuits
The funeral went quite well, it was peaceful and perfect setting for this woman who loved the bush. The cemetary is located in a forest close by Mapleton and has only a few other tombs, one of which being the grave of her 3rd husband. She was a woman with a witty sense of humour and rather strong...

A funeral on a sunny day
It won't be a very funny day today: we are going to the funeral of the mother of one of my sisters in law. But it won't be a very sad affair either; she had been really sick for the past few years (with Alzeimer) and couldn't even recognize her own children and grand-children. My mother in law told...

In Australia
That's it! We're here! it took 29 hours in airport and planes, plus 1 and a half hour of bus, but we're in Australia! And the condo we are renting is really fantastic: big windows along the side facing the Pacific ocean and the Maroochydoore River, with good size balcony in the rising sun! And Son...

In airport
there we are: in the airport waiting for our plane to depart for Vancouver, then Sydney and Birsbane. I was agreably surprise how fast we went through security and that we won't need to pick up our lugages before arriving in Brisbane. OK. the computer juice is going down (not surprising as Son has...

Saying Goodbyes...
Last day at work... I won't miss the job but I will miss the people: they were a nice bunch to work with. A rather heteroclite bunch as well, with young ones of about 22 years of age to more mature ones pass 60, and with a wide range of education and views on the world. Not at all what I had...

Count down
Thank you all for your kind encouragements! All try to work some more on it this summer (between 2 trips here and there!LOL) And I started the count down to Saturday. The flight is at 5pm which is not bad, but then it'll be like 2 am for us when we take the next plane in Vancouver for Sydney. We're...
