There it goes again, the fire alarm! Or..

A little bit more on the little things that make Germany different.. It has been feeling like summer since the begining of May (not that we had a real winter or anything) and ice cream is in big demand. Germans love ice cream and there is Eis Café (Ice cream parlour or café) everywhere. They must be... Sign in to see full entry.

Go, Germany,Go! Go! Let's GO!

There is Fussball (football. Only people from N.Am. call it soccer) in the air, I can tell you that! It is the European Football championship(or Tournment) and every one is rivetted to the T.V. Even my bank is full of little German Flags, and hats, and guirlandes and even a piggybank in the shape of... Sign in to see full entry.

Roman Ruines and Barbaric Germans

Yesterday we went further east along the Neckar river than we have ever been! Way to Osterburken, about 1h10 from home by train. Actually, to get to Osterburken the train has to leave the side of the Neckar river and go a bit towards the north. It was nice to see new sceneries but I had to agree... Sign in to see full entry.

Neckar Cruising Boat

It was so much fun last night! We had a little cruise on the Neckar river with a bunch of parents and teachers and administrators (although this title sounds too pompous to describe such lovely persons) of my son's school. We were probabply about 60 aboard a small cruising boat and, even though the... Sign in to see full entry.

Little more about Schwetzingen Palace Gardens

There is a strange feature at the Palace that I forgot to mention. Karl Theodor liked hunting and walking in his grandiose gardens but had trouble seeing the time on the clock from afar. So, he ordered the clock master to change the hands of the clock that is set on the Palace's centre tour. So that... Sign in to see full entry.

That's what happen when you have too many DunklesBier...

I re-read my last entry this morning and realised that I must have drank more Dunklesbier than I thought.... First of all Ost in German means east, so it was the "east Sea" known in French and in English as the Baltic Sea (Baltique in Fr.). Sorry, Mea culpa,Mea culpa,Mea culpa. Although, even though... Strange symbols on the toilets doors.

As we had decided last night not to go to our bike tour because of the bad weather, we decided to wake up rather late (around 9am) and take is easy. Our son is in Lübeck with his class for the week. They are sailing on the "Ostsee" (west sea). SO, we had a whole week for ourselves and wanted to do... Sign in to see full entry.

And the resulsts are...

Thank you all for your support! I did pass my test. I don't know by how much, but I did. Ouf! It's done. I now have the official European standard level A3 done. (there are ABC levels with 1,2,3 for each letter. FOr example: A1, A2 and A3, then B1....up to C3-fluent). Now, my teacher want me to do... Sign in to see full entry.

Test Results and IKEA Kitchen Design

I'm going to have the result of my test today. I am NOT looking forward to it. I think that I seriously flopped it. I was, and still am, rather angry about the exam itself. I felt like they were trying to find out what I didn't learn instead of what I do actually know. The begining of the test was... Sign in to see full entry.

Deutsch Prüfung (German Test)

It's a beautiful day but I don't feel like it. I have a Deutsch Prüfung (German Test) this afternoon and I feel like the more I study the more confuse I get. I am working 100 times more than for Spanish and I'm not sure I'll pass. I feel just as nervous as when I had my Senate at the University.... Sign in to see full entry.
