DO YOU WORK BETTER BY ASSIGNMENT OR BY SUBMITTING IDEAS?

I have to say that I would rather be given an assignment than have to submit ideas to magazines to get work. Query letters are fine, but quite frankly, I would rather use my time and efforts to get with a good editor and magazine (or website) that gives me assignments rather than submit tons of...
