Prologue

The black Mercedes slides smoothly out from the crowded main thoroughfare onto a long, winding and narrow road. Dimly-lit and lined with an immaculately neat row of trees on both sides, it is palpable that this road led to a very important facility. It is close to midnight. Given the set of circumstances, that probably explains why the sole passenger of the Mercedes - a casually-dressed pot-bellied man in his fifties is breaking out in perspiration.
