Well, my Six Degrees of Separation from the President of Honduras is over.

Mel Zelaya is the new president, I think. I cannot be sure because I hit the Honduran new site at 2 a.m. every evening, just when they are updating it for the new day and there is nothing on the screen. Sigh.... Guatemalans trying to save themselves...

The people are walking, wading, crawling out of the devastated areas, knowing that help will not come to them, they must find it themselves.....I think that there are 45 helicopters in the area now and they can't do enough. Huracan Stan kicking Latino Butts and we can help

Hurricane Stan devastated parts of Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador and southern and eastern Mexico. Winning the War in Iraq with Honduran Blackwater Dogs

This whole story was triggered by a small story in La Tribuna of Honduras. It was a story about some 105 Chilean men being refused entry at the border to Nicaragua, from Honduras. The second largest number of people to suffer in Hurricane Katrina are Honduran residents in Louisianna, Mississippi and in Alabama, North Americans are the largest group. Did I Say that Halliburton and its Babies Would Do Katrina Rebuild?!?!?

Days ago, I mentioned that if FEMA were stripped of a thinking, plannning, functioning and financed and fully staffed (read National Guardsmen) work force, that it would then cause terrible things to happen during a national emergency. Notes on Tucson's Guests from New Orleans, etc.

We filled the airport with greeters as our 85 or so guests' plane touched down and another crowd of greeters awaited them at our Tucson Convention Center. Thank You, Katrina for saying what needed to be said about this government.

About this Blog

I wondered if anyone was reporting from the frontlines of American Society, embedded with the poverty stricken and reporting on what happens each day when you live in the greatest country on earth and earn enough to survive and not much else. I wondered if anyone was explaining America to others and thought that, since I was already embedded in this ongoing cultural experiment, I might tell what it's like.
